Lemcozole (Oral suspension)

Composition Each ml contains:

Albendazole 25 mg.

 

Indications

Albendazole is an anthelmintic agent which is used in the prevention and treatment of infestations of the following in ruminants:
Round worms in both the respiratory and digestive tracts: Haemounchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Chabertia, Oesphagostomum and Dictyocaulus filaria.
Tape worms: Moniezia.
Liver flukes: fasciola hepatica, fasciola gigantica and dicrocoelium dendriticum.

Dose

Oral route by a drench gun.
Cattle:
Nematodes and tape worms: 7.5 mg Albendazole / kg b.wt.
(eq. to 3 ml of the product / 10 kg b.w.t)
Liver flukes: 10 mg Albendazole / kg b.wt.
(eq. to 4 ml of the product / 10 kg b.w.t)
Sheep, Goats:
Nematodes and Tape worms: 5 mg Albendazole / kg b.wt.
(eq. to 2 ml of the product / 10 kg b.w.t)
Liver flukes: 7.5 mg Albendazole / kg b.wt.
(eq. to 3 ml of the product / 10 kg b.w.t)

Withdrawal Period

Meat shouldn't be consumed during treatment and after 10 days (for sheep and goat) and 14 days (for cattle).

Contraindications

The drug is not used for pregnant and lactating animals.

Side effects

Albendazole has been associated with embryotoxic and teratogenic effects in rats, rabbits and sheep .

when given early in pregnancy doses of 45 mg / kg didn't cause any adverse effects in cattle.

The safety index is reported to be 7.5 -20 times the recommended dose.

Storage conditions

Store in cool, dry and dark place and keep in well sealed containers

at temperature less than 25o c
