Composition Each gm contains:

Ampicillin trihydrate   346 mg (Eq. To 300 mg ampicillin base)

 

Uses and Indications

Poultry:
- Enteritis due to E.coli and Salmonella spp.
- Clostridial infections.
Calves, lambs and foals:
Calf scour and Pneumonia associated E.coli infections .
Calf enteritis and Septicemia due to salmonella infections
Ampicillin is bactericidal in action and is a true broad spectrum antibiotic and is active against a large number of g+ve and g-ve organisms these include species of Streptococci, Staphylococci, Streptococcus faecalis, Corynebacterium, Clostridium, Fusiformis, spp. E.coli, Klebsiella, Shigella, Salmonella, Proteus, Brucella and Pasteurella.

Dose
Oral route ( via drinking water)
Poultry:
(eq to 10 gm of the product/ 150 kg b.wt. in drinking water once daily for 3-5 days)
Calves , lambs and foals:
(eq. To one gm of the product / 15 kg b.wt. in drinking water twice daily for 3-5 days)

Withdrawal time
Poultry: 6 days
Calve & lamb meat: 10 days

Contraindications

Not to be used with other bacteriostatics agents
Not used in ruminants or those producing milk for human consumption.
Not used in Guinea pigs and rabbits.

Side effects
Sometimes hypersensitivity when used in high doses for long periods.

Storage conditions

Store at temperature not exceeding 25 0C.
