Gentacin 10 Injection

Gentamicin sulphate12.5 gm.
(Equiv.to 10 gm gentamycin base)

Indications

Horses , dogs ,cats and cattel: Genitourinary infections; infections in the respiratory tract,skin and soft tissues, bacteraemia and septicaemia.
Its main activity is against g – ve germs such as: Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsilla pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. Coli, Salmonella spp. Shigella spp and Pastereulla.
It's also active against some g+ ve bacteria such as Beta haemolytic streptococcus, Staph spp., Corynebacterium.

Dose

Horses: 2.5 ml of the product solution / 50 kg b.wt.(eq.to2 mg gentamicin base / kg b.wt.) given by I/M or slow I/V twice daily for 3-5 days (twice daily for the first 2 days then once daily).
Dogs, Cats: 0.25 ml of the product solution / 5 kg b.wt.( eq.to5 mg gentamicin base / kg b.wt.) given by I/M or slow I/V for 3-5days (twice daily for the first 2 days then once daily).

Precautions

Contraindications

Don't administer in animals sensitive to gentamicin.
Don't use with other aminoglycosides or cephalosporines drugs .

Not to be administrated at dehydrated animals .

Not used in animals with kidney problems .
